| WALK-IN TUTORING: tutoring will take place in every subject with advance sign up. We will do our best to meet the needs of any student who desires individual help in a given subject and match them with a qualified tutor. If a student desires a little “over the shoulder” assistance, this will be provided in the lab by our staff. This program will utilize WELL staff and National Honor Society students as tutors. We are planning to have tutoring available from Monday-Thursday from 3:15 to 5:15 p.m. Information needed to sign up for tutoring services on-line will be coming soon. |
| LONG-TERM TUTORING: NC Teaching Fellows from North Carolina State University and Meredith College will engage in sustained tutoring efforts with students who need long-term assistance. The WELL tutor coordinator will maintain a list of available Teaching Fellows and their areas of expertise and create a match between tutor and student.
Teaching Fellows tutors will also be invited to develop and lead academic workshops on taking notes, doing research, studying for tests/exams, writing papers, setting goals, etc. |
| HOMEWORK MANAGEMENT: The WELL is open to any student who wishes to work on their homework and use the computers for research, paper writing, etc. We also welcome students who wish to come and find a workspace and focus on their homework. Our staff will be available to every student needing or requesting this service, and will meet with students weekly and possibly daily to assist the student in achieving his or her academic goals through planning, scheduling, counseling, and focus. |
