Hitchhikers Robotics Workshop at the WELL
Saturday, November 4 and 11. Both dates start at 9 a.m. – noon.

Interested in robotics? Come join us and learn more about this fascinating field. In this fun-filled two-part workshop, students will be given a hands-on learning experience in the field of robotics. They will learn the basics of robotics including building, programming, and driving an FRC robot. No prior experience is required!
Hosted by: FIRST Robotics Competition Team 2059. Established in 2010, The Hitchhikers are a local FIRST Robotics Team in Wake County. FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is a unique varsity sport of the mind designed to help high-school-aged young people discover how interesting and rewarding the life of engineers and researchers can be.

18th Annual NC State First-Year Engineering Design Day (FEDD)
Save the Date! Tuesday, November 21
Two Sessions: 9-11:30 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m.
The College of Engineering at North Carolina State University is inviting school groups to attend the 18th Annual First-Year Design Day (FEDD). 8th through 12th grade teachers are invited to bring their students to FEDD on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. There will be two sessions: one in the morning (9-11:30 a.m.) and one after lunch (1-3:30 p.m.). The event will be held at the McKimmon Center located at 1101 Gorman Street (corner of Gorman Street & Western Blvd). Parking is available and free.

NOTE: If you would like to be a part of a WELL group, please email Betsey McFarland, [email protected] by October 31st. November 21 is the last day of school before the Thanksgiving holiday. If Betsey can get a group of 12 students, the group will plan to attend the morning session (8th-12th only). The group will meet at the McKimmon Center at 8:45 a.m. Pick-up will also be at the McKimmon Center. Any school absence will be your responsibility to report.
